The founders
The history of FM Scenografie can be divided into various periods; at its origins, there is the decades of experience in theatrical set design consolidated by its founder, Fortunato Michieli, in his work as a stagehand at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan. It is in this period that he met personalities such as the set designers Ezio Frigerio, Luca Damiani and Maurizio Fercioni, directors such as Giorgio Strehler and Patrice Chereau, managers such as Paolo Grassi and Nina Vinchi. Precisely from an idea of one of the personalities of this group, the actor and director Franco Parenti, came the suggestion to found FM Scenografie near via Ripamonti in Milan and to begin a close collaboration with the Pier Lombardo theatre.
Development
There are countless opportunities, and we have always wanted to exploit them all: the production crosses over from theatrical scenography to the world of advertising and visual merchandising, working for the La Rinascente group. To meet the ever-increasing demands, FM settles in Buccinasco so as to work in larger spaces and carry out all the new projects requested. In the meantime, other theater organizations also appreciate our professionalism: in Italy the Alla Scala theater in Milan, the Regio in Parma, the Stabile in Genoa and the Carlo Felice in Turin, abroad the Carouge theater in Geneva, the Comèdie Française in Paris and the Ginza theater in Tokyo – just to name a few.
TV, fashion and furniture
We have never stopped growing and innovating, also entering the world of television and becoming one of the most important suppliers of the RAI offices in Milan and Turin, creating important television sets for La7 and for many other shows.
We also collaborate on We organize Haute Couture and Prêt-à-porter fashion shows such as “Le Simonetta” in Milan, Krizia, Cavalli, Valentino, and we take care of the creation of elegant corners and installations for well-known luxury perfumery and cosmetics houses, such as Shiseido.
Then we add the collaboration with Fiera di Milano (for which FM creates scenographic elements for the MIDO and HOMI events) and also that with the Salone del Mobile in Milan, creating stands and installations for furniture and design companies such as Cassina, Poltrona Frau, Edra and Cappellini.
